Trailerpark

Ever wonder what’s going on next door? Ever spy on your neighbors, gossip behind their backs? Well, if you live here you do. TRAILERPARK is a narrative concerning 13 neighbors stuck in an small trailer park, this film is all about human connections. Some connections are new, some are lost, and some are at times quite troubled. Here is a place where it appears loneliness reigns and boredom is almost always sure to take over. Filmmakers Patrick Muhlberger and Jonny Look successfully drag us into this dark world in which we become voyeurs ourselves. Privacy ceases to exist as they walk us through a widow’s bedroom, a man’s inhibited admittance of his homosexuality, an uncomfortable anniversary of an estranged married couple, and the mental and physical demise of an eccentric spinster. The slow and steady pace contrasts the complexity of this film and adds to its authenticity, though its characters are what really stay with you. TRAILERPARK is a study of American life on the edge of society, told with a sense of irony and perspective, which reminds us that everyone has a story of their own.

-Mallory Martin (Cleveland Film Festival)

The Dying Western

In The Dying Western, Howard obsessively pursues his dreams to be the next John Wayne, but has only been successful at playing dying extras in western movies. Set in 1960's Hollywood, Howard's steadfast commitment to his work gets in the way of his relationships at home as he practices for his roles by faking his death on a near-nightly basis. These playful imitations grow competitive when his wife June is diagnosed with cancer and Howard becomes convinced that she is trying to "out-die" him.

Geek the Library Ad Campaign

The 'Geek The Library' Ads were part of a national campaign funded by a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to spark awareness for the many facets and services our public libraries can offer. The central concept behind the campaign was that everyone 'geeks' something whether it be race cars or guinea pigs, and that the library can help you learn more about what you 'geek.'

The campaign was promoted as a grassroots movement in hopes that other individuals would post videos about what they geek. The word 'geek' was also introduced into the english lexicon as a verb as part of the campaign. The spots were shot in Ohio, Iowa, and Georgia in the summer of 2009.
